Movement

Movement is the first studio album from the English rock band New Order, released on November 13, 1981, by Factory Records. After the suicide of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis the previous year, this album continues Joy Division's dark post - punk sound. It ramps up the use of synthesizers while still firmly rooted in rock. At release, it didn't gain much love from critics or audiences, only reaching number thirty on the UK Albums Chart. The band would gradually transition to a more electronic sound in the following year.
