Mute proudly presents the LP release of The Pop Group's live version of album Y, previously only in a box set. It'll hit the shelves on March 20th. Y, released in 1979, is The Pop Group's highly influential debut. That year, they also dropped the single 'She is Beyond Good & Evil / 3:38'. The Y Live album is a must - have addition, capturing the raw energy of their live shows. Recorded in various places like New York, Manchester, and Brussels (where they shared the bill with William Burroughs and Joy Division), it showcases what made The Pop Group so exciting. Before splitting in 1981, the band released two more singles and a studio album. Frontman Mark Stewart went solo in 1983, while others formed new bands. The Pop Group reformed in 2010 and have released two new studio albums. They'll tour in 2020 to support this release.
